Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice (WIP)

No comments:
Experimenting with doing a poster style image...and then I thought, what better subject to use than the Power Puff Girls??  I guess in this case, it would be Power Puff Women, but that doesn't really have that nice of a ring to it.

Black Ares, Goddess of War

No comments:
Finally finished!!  Tried doing this amidst doing a million other things at the same time while making sure I had ample backups just in case Photoshop decided to crash on me...which it has done several times now in the past.  I'm so serious about writing out a story and seeing where this goes with this character.

Black Ares (work in progress)

No comments:
One of my favorite drawings from last year was my black female version of Ares, the god of war.  I've been thinking recently how cool it would be to just draw like a short visual story (like a comic...I guess...) of her character, but I would have to flesh out the story and come up with a background and all that jazz.  Actually, the more that I think about it, the more that it just might happen.  Anyways, here's a redraw sort of...

More progress will be posted soon.

Korra the Avatar

No comments:
I liked my Legend of Korra sketch so much, that I took it much further...to completion.  And I decided to add my favorite member of the Fire Ferrets, Pabu as well.  From what looked like a simple inking and color job took much longer than I expected.  Perhaps it was the constant saving/creating backups that did it.  I swear I want no more Photoshop crashes!! You hear me Adobe!?!

Korra and Naga

No comments:
I never really watched Avatar the Last Airbender at all...I think I made it through like 12 minutes of one episode before my attention started drifting elsewhere.  That's why I was very skeptical in giving the Legend of Korra a chance.  I sat down one day and watched the first two episodes, and then I was hooked.  I could see why it has such a massive following.  So I decided to scribble this up really quick...being sick and all.  I may go back and add more to it before I ink/color it...and of course, that too will find its way on this blog.

African American Samus of Metroid sketch

1 comment:
Yeah, I know...I just drew a picture of Samus from Metroid...but I decided to draw another anyways.  I'm not really a fan of her Zero Suit because it doesn't make much logistical sense to have a suit like that without any contacts to her outer power suit.  And plus, I just wanted to do something with a lot of detail in it.  I got like 80% done with this sketch like a day ago, and photoshop crashed and gave me a black image with red noise all over it.  I wanted to just trash it, but I started over, and it didn't take nearly as long this time.  But anyways, moral of the story...save often, and backup often to avoid such headaches.

This one may take a little longer to ink and color...but I guess that's half the fun.

A Hard's Night Work (Complete)

African American Batgirl

This didn't come out exactly how I pictured it in my head, but I still like it.  The main thing is that I learned a lot while doing it.  I may go back and adjust some more things later on...but for right now, it is as is.  So many sketches to ink and color, so little time...

A Hard Night's Work

No comments:
My very rough sketch of my African American Batgirl winding down after a tough night fighting crime in Gotham.  I definitely want to ink and color this....but I have so many sketches piling up that need to be inked and colored as well.  I guess I should keep the art juices flowing and sketch out more, and when I run into an art block, do the colors.  Who knows....
